How does KYBELLA work?
The active ingredient in KYBELLA, deoxycholic acid, is designed to break down and destroy fat cells in the submental area. Once the fat cells are eliminated, these cells will not grow back. Therefore, additional KYBELLA treatments shouldn't be necessary after you have reached your desired outcome.
Can KYBELLA be used to treat other areas of the body?
Right now, KYBELLA is only available for treating the upper neck. KYBELLA can effectively reduce the appearance of a double chin. KYBELLA has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use on any other areas of the body.
Am I eligible for a KYBELLA treatment?
You are likely eligible, but there are a few factors that could make you ineligible to receive a KYBELLA treatment. You must be at least 18 years old, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and cannot have an active infection in or around your neck. Before receiving treatment, you are encouraged share any health concerns and your medical history with your treatment provider so they can determine if you may be at risk for an adverse reaction from the treatment.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
During your initial consultation, a customized treatment plan will be created to match your needs. Usually, patients get between two and four KYBELLA treatments before achieving their goals. KYBELLA injections should be spaced about 30 days apart. You should not get any more than six injections.
